What kind of events will draw people to a new shopping centre?

I just started working for a new shopping centre that is mostly food services, not so much clothing, but also some entertainment and speciality shopping. I need to come up with some event ideas to draw people into the building. Don't worry about budget limitations, but keep in mind the events must be inside the building, we have no parking lots or outdoor space. Any ideas??|||I assume you are responsible for driving foot-traffic to the shopping center; that is, just getting the people there. The final sale would be up to the businesses in the center.

DIRECT MAIL:

If the stores in the center are the types of businesses that can offer a special discount or incentive to come in, you should look into doing a direct mail coupon/discount mailer that has "special savings" from each of the stores in the center. Collectively, if all the stores have an ad/coupon in the mailer, it would be a greater incentive to the customer to take advantage of discounts that are all in one shopping center. I'd mail out the mailer to 25-30k residences with in a 5 mile radius of the shopping center,

PROMOTIONAL:

- A sponsored wine, food and shopping night featuring all of your stores. Free for one night. You can make this a dress-up event or a family event depending on the type of people who shop at the center. This will be good for exposure, but it's uncertain how much long-term business this will generate.
