When should I start shopping for my baby?

I am 4 weeks and 6 days pregnant. I am so excited. When did you start shopping? When should I start shopping?|||i started after i found out what the sex was|||NO TIME SOON! LOL, BUT YOU SHOULD AT LEAST WAIT UNTIL YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE HAVING.|||ha...I am 8 weeks and havent started yet. I dont want to start until I know the sex. I am just trying to cope with the morning sickness and fatigue!!|||just save your money love,it's still toooooooooooo early. and keep all your receipts|||I decided to wait until after we find out what it is.|||I didn't start until my second trimester (after I found out what I was having) but the bigger things I just recently bought. Start shopping when you feel it is right, it is loads of fun. =)|||ya find out what your having then you can start all the shopping its fun|||Whenever you want to, just keep in mind the time of year you will be having the baby (fall), what you might get at your baby shower and things like that. But if your itching to go shopping for your baby then go ahead....it's not like the stuff will go bad or you won't use it. Congrats by the way:)|||As far as clothes or decorations ect for the nursery, maybe after you find out the sex.

Things like diapers, formula (if your not breastfeeding), bottles, wipes ....those essentials....start stocking up right away, you'll be shocked at how fast they go.|||i probably made a baby registry right away.. but didnt actually start shopping till i knew the sex of the baby.. if i were you i would sign up on this website... babycenter.com... it taught me alot about the baby growing inside of me... also i used to look alot at maternity clothes... unfortunately there is not a lot to do this early on.|||I started round 28 weeks, We found out the sex at 24 weeks, and created our registry then.|||i did not buy anything other than crib etc . around 6 mos. my family and friends took care of the rest.|||well when i was six months pregnant, i wanted to find out the sex first then my husband and i went shopping, and remodeled a room for her. ...it was a girl...|||First of all Congratulations! I would start to buy some small things once you hit your 2nd trimester at 14 weeks. You could start to even think about nursery themes now, start looking at cribs ( just to get an idea of what you like), travel systems, etc. Don't buy any of the bigger things until you get in to the end of your 2nd trimester to beginning of your 3rd trimester. Make sure you are going to your Doctor to get checked and get your prenatal vitamins!!|||Most people tend to wait to tell people and buy things, etc. until the first trimester is over just because then the chance of miscarriage reduces significantly. Of course that's easier said than done, especially when it's your first and you're so excited. In my first pregnancy, I was pregnant with twins and we went out and bought cribs and my mother-in-law bought us matching outfits, etc. Then at 16 weeks, we lost one of the twins. It was very hard, but the other baby was born without a problem and is now a healthy, happy 1 year old. A lot of people have the attitude that they just tell everyone and buy things right away because if they do happen to miscarry, they would want everyone to know that too. You just never know. Do what you feel in your heart. Good luck and here's to a healthy and happy 9 months! :-)|||get some stuff now like diapers and lotions and stuff liek that

when you know the gender do that too lol have fun|||I would wait until you find out the sex. I am almost 20 weeks and haven't bought anything yet.|||I think that you should wait until you know the sex and at least after the first trimester when almost all dangers of miscarriage have past.|||I started shopping the minute I left the ultrasound place after finding out it was a girl. I couldnt wait!|||I would wait til you get to the second trimester at least so the change of miscarriage drops significantly. You dont want to buy a ton of baby stuff and have a loss. It is very had to deal with when you have all that baby stuff around you. Good luck and be patient, it will go so fast.|||It is natural to be excited and to want to start preparing, but I always caution against starting too soon. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 30% of women miscarry in the first trimester, and this is even more common with a first pregnancy. Even after the first trimester, nothing is guaranteed. With my first pregnancy (twins), we started preparing very early, and then I ended up delivering one stillborn and one live baby at 25 weeks. He lived only 10 days. The hardest thing in the world was to come home from the hospital with no babies and have to deal with all the STUFF we had bought.

I would recommend buying a few small things to satisfy your excitement and desire to buy stuff, but hold off on most things until the 3rd trimester. Good luck and congrats!|||i always start the day i find out. its never 2 early. u can always start on diapers and baby wipes, onesis, socks, neutral color clothing, but one thing all baby's aren't born 2 wear newborn cloths. some babies be 2 big so u may want 2 hold off on any clothing that says newborn until ur 7th month when u know how much ur baby weight. GOOD LUCK!!!!|||anytime you want. you can buy many unisex outfits now and there's plenty of things you can get that don't depend on pink and blue...wooden cribs, bur cloths, bottles, diapers, shoes, toys, formula, strollers, spoons...all kins of things. my advice...every paycheck, go get a pack of diapers and one thing of formula...that way you'll be stocked up and it won't break your bank when the time comes! congrats! and have fun in baby r us|||first of all, congratulations!

you are meant to wait three months before you start buying things for the baby as the first three months are quite sensitive (where you could still lose the baby), i waited til i was three months gone, but it was so hard because i kept seeing so many lovely adorable baby outfits! try making lists of all the things you need and window shop instead?

hope this helps, and best of luck!|||i didnt shop until i knew the sex but even still didnt beleive the doctor since iv heard so many stories about dr's saying it was one sex then turned out to be another adn my daughter wasnt really trying to let us see as much as we wanted her so thats why i was spektical.....but i started buying things after i was 5 months just little things here and there bc my mom told me that i should shop after my baby shower so i wouldnt buy stuff i was given and im glade i waited bc i got so much for my babyshower that i only had to buy diapers since i got everything else from my family and i had clothes that my daughter ddnt even wear with the tags since she got so much adn i saved all of it for birthdays and babyshowers so i can give as gifts since my daughter didnt geta a chance to use that clothes......so i suggest the same dont buy much until after your babayshower so you can really get what you need although i did buy boxes of diapers to stock|||I bought a little something right off the bat - a teether or rattle, and then bought her a pretty dress the day I found out it was a girl. I bought more as I progressed and knew that it was going to be a healthy pregnancy. If you are itching to shop then I say shop! If you are going to find out the sex I would hold off on clothes and some stuff... you're gonna want to go all out girly if you get a daughter... I did!|||I'm 4 weeks and 2 days today. I'm so excited and I really want to start shopping now. But I think I'm going to wait until 8 or 12 weeks.
