When do you think its ok to start shopping for babies things when your pregnant?

Currently 17 weeks and haven't bought a thing!


I have noticed loads of people on forums etc have bought loads.


When are you planning on starting shopping? When is ok to?|||I started after 12 weeks (once you've had your first scan and know everything is ok)|||Everyone is different, but me personally, I haven't bought anything in both pregnancies until after 30 weeks, I find it makes the last bit go by quicker. With my first I waited until 34-35 weeks and this pregnancy I just started shopping last week (I am 34 weeks now, almost) I just don't like having everything ready and looking at it everyday while waiting, I would rather get it later and it keep me busy during the last weeks/month. Whenever you want to you can buy things though,some women will buy everything at 12 weeks, and others wait until their last trimester, whatever you want to do.


Good luck!|||hi, i am 17 weeks too and i wouldnt have bought anything but when i was in Croydon they had a mamas and papas so we went in there to have a look, not to buy anything, and they have deals on at the moment so we opened an account with them and secured a deposit on nursery furniture and a buggy / car seat etc.... the deposit is refundable "if anything happens" or even if you change your mind, and we have ordered it to be delivered at the beginning of October - we are due november 28th... you can change the delivery date too.. we got it that early because we wanted to secure the current deals they had. i wont be buying anything else until probably sept / october.... and probably wont pay off the stuff from mamas and papas til then.|||It's totally up to you! If you plan on finding out what gender the baby is, I'd wait until the appointment where you find out to buy any gender specific things, but otherwise it is totally up to you as to when you want to have things in your house, when you can afford to buy things (if that is even an issue at all), and whether or not you have the nursery ready for everything. Everyone is different in their pregnancy and how they do everything. I started buying some things like clothes, rags, bibs, etc right away then I didn't buy anything at all until after I found out I was having a boy. Just make sure you have everything you will need when you first bring the baby home! Congratulations! You'll love having a little one around, I know I have loved my first 12 days!|||I heard somewhere that you should wait until your 24th week so that you are sure what sex your baby is and then you can paint the room, get the items and clothes all in the colours that suit the baby. You can start getting some things, but I'd wait until I was sure the sex of my baby.





Good Luck with the baby. :) :)|||am 25 weeks and didn't buy anything except two blankets...........am not sure of the sex still now. may be after 2 weeks i will buy. for you its early wait until 20 weeks,,,,are you sure of the sex?because until 20 weeks gender can't be sure.|||I started buying things as soon as I found out I was pregnant.


I didnt know what I was having, I was excited So i bought unisex colors, So it could go either way.


So u can start buying things at any time if u wanted to buy unisex things? :)


Hope this was helpful.|||Since your out of the first trimester i would say you would be fine to start shopping. I started around that time, but bought more the closer it got to my due date.|||I started buying baby stuff at 30 weeks after the baby shower.|||i plan to start buying things after my 12 week scan :)
