What is the busiest shopping day of the week in retail?

In general what is the busiest shopping day of the week? I am not talking about the busiest shopping day of the year, just in general, what day of the week sees the most sales/activity?|||Saturday is ALWAYS the busiest. Wednesday is the quietest. I've worked in retail for ages and in loads of different shopping centres and it is always the same.|||I agree it can also be Sundays but in the morning. Though in the Middle East they shop on Sundays there, because their Sundays are working days. I have read it on www.couponsaver.org

|||Well, Saturday's are. Most people are off from work, at least the ones with a full-time job who work regularly and can afford it. It's like a weekend activity. If you're ever wondering the best day to shop, it's Wednesday. Working at JCPenney, those are when a lot of our sales switch off with each other and depending on the time of day, you can find a good deal. Of course, there are exceptions to this, such as Black Friday and everything:)|||I agree with UK about Saturday. I used to be in retail managment, Sunday had a crowd too but lookers not buyers.

In the insurance business, the busiest day is Tuesday.
